What Happened To Cytherea?

The moogmobile arrived! (Long post)

I would have waited 7 weeks, by harassing the nice salesman every Tuesday morning to see if it was anything new but it finally arrived a week ago!

vélobrouette The Mommy Moog, The Moogmobile!

YEAH!

This post could become a very very long post because I want to talk in great length, answering the questions I've asked throughout this first week.

vélobrouette Why?
There are many ways to transport children on bicycles. I'll tell you about plenty this month but just know that I've tested plenty of child seat and the cart behind the bike. The seat is limited by age and the cart I was never much reassured. I preferred to use it for racing rather than for transporting Minimoog. The
vélobrouettes are already very popular in Denmark and Holland began their invasion of Flanders at the moment but it's seeing a neighbor vélobrouette in Maisons Alfort I had the favorite.
I like the fact that the load is in front of me, so I can keep an eye on it. The vélobrouette is more impressive than the cart and therefore more noticeable to motorists who pay more attention. Vélobrouette and can accommodate up to 100 kg (unlike to cariolle rising in my model, up to 40 kg)! Not negligible for someone who really does not feel like buying a car.

Where have I bought? In

Holland Bikes, bicycle store chain in France Dutch. They are sometimes criticized because a chouille more (too) expensive than others but I do not care, I am assured of the quality of their products. I discovered them a year after opening, when I lived in Paris in the 15th, not knowing they would grow and become the benchmark they are now. I have always appreciated the service of Jens, who is good advice, very kind and helpful.
Two key criteria for me: he "forgets" to ask to pay for small services (a tightening of screws, a little air in the tires ,...) and he never wound to buy such or as an accessory. He gives good advice, that's all.
In addition, I find that this shop has a real flair for good taste. I love accessories with colors everywhere, bike bags flowery head rests Miffy, protects hands of bright red tiles on gingham baskets, helmets pink, ... while for a girl of good taste!
Being a green mom soooo nice bike ............. WIN!

Which model did I choose?

I opted for Cargobike Long of Bakfiets . I have the chance to read Dutch fluently, which was extremely helpful in comparing the views of Dutch consumers. I could choose Gazelle (with a trunk that is foldable canvas) but it seemed less durable or Babbo (more visually appealing) but had fewer options. So I chose the most expensive vélobrouettes the Cargobike. Long, who was only 50 euro more expensive than short.
What helped me decide the little things thoughtful: the fact that we have a very low mounting (which I will ride in a skirt, yay!), which prevents us from losing our balance too, or holes in the trunk to make from the water rain, or carpet anti-slip tray, or bright colors, visible in traffic, the small step in helping children to ride in the trunk, ... criteria may be present in other vélobrouettes but there Bakfiets who proposed that at any one time.

What is the value of a bakfiets / vélobrouette?

The utility is to carry stuff, just stuff! Tips and kids! And men crammed ^ ^
The vélobrouette is a bicycle for parents. The bench is ideal for small children but can fold to enlarge the cabinet for the races or even to take an adult.
I hauled 4 children in the square on the first day of my purchase.
out on internet, I found people who use them for deliveries, to get their mother-in at the station or to pick up their drunk husband (mwahahahaha) at the corner cafe. The most original user is anyway the bakfiets-Imam, who has serious the class to spread the word bicycle.
But the major use is that the parent who takes her children to school and went shopping. Between
Mister Moog and I am the only one to have a driver's license (for now) but I have no desire to buy a car. Already by environmental concerns but also because I've never liked having a car. A car is a load, you have to think too much, where I parked when I have to do the review, where the keys are, what day I can do the technical control ,.... this is not my thing, even if j'adoooore drive. No, I prefer my bakfiets combine with short-term rental car.

What options do I taken on my bakfiets?

- the cushion for the seat (which I enlenvé directly because too afraid to be bitten by the first shot at the first traffic light)
- the canopy of rain transparent to transport
Minimoog - the sheet red transport equipment in the rain
- the 7-speed instead of the 3 standard speeds
- small safe deposit box with a padlock (padlock that locks because I do not use hidden treasure = qq me therefore necessarily open a padlock it's too tempting for the scum ^ ^)
- electric assist
- anti-puncture tires Marathon Plus

In my purchase, I added next
also - the lovely
Nutcase helmet - a big padlock all green

No kidding? An electric bike? Spezia lazy !!!!!

And yes, once again, criticism is close ^ ^
I bought my first EVA, electric bike.
Choice is good, especially for a vélobrouette you can load up to 100 kg we intend to drive in a region that is slightly hilly Ile-de-France. And in a week, I've been very fortunate to be able to use it more than once.
A big addition to electric assist, is starting Quick offered it.
Despite the fact that the bakfiets is extremely easy handling, the cars of Paris like to push us buttocks. VAE and lets start this fraction of a second faster, which saves us a helping horn at traffic lights.

But then, if you have a VAE, because the bakfiets is far too heavy to handle, right?

Well, no, potato! This is the HELP! I have not bought a moped or scooter (much to the misfortune of Mister Moog also ^ ^).
I really wanted to buy this bakfiets but I refused to buy it without testing. And it took me exactly 10 seconds to decide, once I was on the bike.
Im-Pres-Sio-Nant!
The maneuverability and lightness of the object are quite surprising for the size and weight of the beast! I taped and I still am! And those who have tested are also very handy, too.

How much does it cost me?

3200 EUR all inclusive. Count
1100 EUR for the option of electric assitance. I think
take insurance for Moogmobile but I have not done the necessary research.
The stickers cost me £ 75 for three sides.

And then, after a week?

of the pellet is TOO!!
Minimoog love, Mommy loves Moog, Moog Mister is still a little skeptical
^ ^ I already made two round-trip-home job search Minimoog going to school.
I think I have done 150km in a week and I've had good results that excited me.
In the "least" I lost a lot of time getting lost, despite my GPS mounted on my handlebars but I should get better and not lose too much time in the long run.
"Less" is also the necessary care of the battery VAE; it needs recharging, keep an eye on it, do not let on the stationary bike in order not to make it fly and it is anyway a cumbersome object. But I do not care, it allows me to go a little faster with less effort.
Another minus is, indeed, the size of the thing! A little harder to handle up-to-earth and leave but I think it's a hand to take.

reactions?

Minimoog and her friends love it. Children love the square, and parents adhere fully understand this choice. I have more comments from my choice for the electric assist and helmet for the purchase of vélobrouette.
In the streets I pedal only rarely, cyclists with me in asking me, it's very funny. I am whistling by the youngsters' wwwwoouuéééé téma the buuuus trodlabouleeeettte vazy mdaaame m'emmeeeenes you "and I even have caused an accident! Yep, two motorists who were looking at me instead of looking at each other is returned within ^ ^ "
Not my fault, here, on this one!

Do I advise this purchase?
It depends on your life, your desires, your budget and lots of other things.
My advice above can help guide you and I am available to answer all your questions by mail also. If you want to test the equipment, I advise you to go to Holland Bikes, which will help you better than me.

And now: the photos!!

Moogmobile Here in all its glory, with the canopy of rain.

And with the sheet that protects the contents of Gargo weather.

The stand that holds the bike very stable at the stop. Easy to apply and remove.

The hood can be left open or may close as we please, we can chat more easily with the hood open, clearly. And you can spin slaps his kid yelling, too ^ ^

The small start-up that helps children to ride. Sisi, there in the front corner!
Minimoog was a little difficult but it will come ^ ^

The bench, with two three-point belts for two small children.

The bench can get up to give more room.
I took the option of closing small padlocked box, which is in fact nothing more than a vertical board under the seat.

It can even remove the little board to give more room. The seat folds down and rest maintenenu even when the trunk was dismantled.

small detail of the front wheel, to show how it is connected to the handlebars.
This is very handy anyway!

The panel with the left, the case of electric assist, the center of the assembly and right cyclobag mantien the iPhone.

iPhone mounted on my bicycle in "Dashboard"

The case of the electric assist. Above the battery indicator. below the level of assitance. The battery is full and electrical assistance to the average level.

The battery, which slips between the carrier and the wheel.

Both locks fixed. A latch lock and a lock for the battery (On & off and release cycle). The padlock is not the only way I have for my bike lock but can I use when I need to close two minutes for a fast race. Admit that it would take more than two minutes to thieves to bite me my bike ^ ^.

Transportation adult
^ ^ Yup, that not laugh at the OECD!

First shopping at the market
The chest fills up but does not preclude the addition of a Minimoog flowers!

And here is my bike after the customization stickers!

And for the videos: Video 1

My colleague tested the bike for the first time and do not fall ^ ^

Video 2
My other brother also tested, sitting in the trunk: p

Last night I stopped being a feminist

Last night I stopped being a feminist ...

Although ... I was in the kitchen doing the Meals on and Mister Moog was on the couch and went about his business (the digestion of the evening + PS3) and I said it was not very cool, anyway! Him for nothing and fuck me in my struggle for the whole week, no but hey ho, what!

And then I remembered some conversations with friends, feminists, men, ... and I told myself it was time to put everything in perspective.

My priority for me, what is it? A
apartment tidy and relaxing, healthy food, efficient sleep, time for my knitting, a Minimoog in great shape, well-fed cats ...
Priority Mister Moog, what is it?
Time for him, time for us to move its games, playing with Minimoog, we take two and three of us, tell jokes, take great pictures, prepare training photoshop ...

My priorities are my choices ! Why do I spend my time yelling at my man he do not share? Him, he does not give me hell when I spend my evening in the kitchen to make onion soup instead of spending the evening with him on the couch to enjoy a good movie after a tiring day at work, anyway? If

MY priorities do not stick to its priorities is it bad? Is what it is not the definition of a couple of rally that our two priorities to make a whole?

When I asked him to do something, he does. He goes out the trash, vacuuming, it is dust, he folds the laundry, he takes care of our daughter, he listens to me when I remake the world in prose ridiculous, it arranges the table, etc. etc. etc. ... he does all that and more ... when I ask him.
When I did not ask him, he does nothing but what I care? I married a man I knew he would not be Mr. Clean, it would just be a gentleman and, in addition, it would be my Mr. Moog. I knew and I was very happy (and still am).

I do not care that he has not the fiber of the washer, as he loves me, supports me and gives me the pleasure he gives me now.

In feminism, it often focuses on household chores and the fact that men, those bastards, are not the household.
But is it being asked already, to do the housework? Huh? If we do not ask them, they will not do! Like them, if they do not ask us to play the PS3 with them, bah we will not do. And play the PS3 can be beneficial for them and for our marital bliss. Like the making of the household or watch a football match, or keep a skein so that we can make a ball, or ... So here

. I do the tasks that I think are important because they seem important and I'll stop yelling at my husband because he does not see things the same way.
And I'll put my shoes elsewhere because MY man asked me and I owe him because his good things that I asked.
If I let my man, the apartment is not as clean as I would like but it would not mean disgusting, huh. Man is a healthy human being who is equally horrified me watching "It's clean."

Does it make me a bad feminist? No!
I'm still as much a feminist, although I'm usually cooking and washing him. I might as well decide to organize my household according to the criteria of my husband (Dishwasher weekly, pasta dishes and cheese ...) but I do not want to. I want to live according to my criteria for me. And if, in addition, my man benefits? Bah is a big plus, right?

short, I can not quite put as I want but I decided not to feel bad feminist if I do the dishes when my man looks at the latest bullshit on YouTube. I am fortunate to have a husband who fulfills all the criteria I always wanted and leave me alone with all my criteria for me.

It is far from the housewife of the '50s, believe me. I'm not in his service, I am my own service to me.

Go, comments are open, drop the bombs!

And thank you to Queen Olympus for touching the same subject yesterday, here!
